Project Summary: The project includes the rehabilitation of the highway through several aspects, including improving the level of traffic safety on the highway by installing traffic safety barriers in the median and on both sides of the highway, extending the lengths of turning lanes on Zallaq Hwy at intersections to enhance their efficiency, in addition to converting conventional traffic signals at some intersections into overhead traffic lights, which enhances visibility for drivers.
The project includes the construction of two public transport stations on both sides of Zallaq Hwy near Sofitel Hotel, and also includes the extension of intelligent traffic system network lines in preparation for future use.
The project includes grading and excavation, placing various backfilling layers, followed by asphalt paving over a total length of 5.6 linear kilometers, in addition to the construction of pavements and the development of the existing rainwater drainage network through the reconstruction of the existing water channel along the northern side of Zallaq Hwy by deepening and widening it.
The project also includes the construction of underground ducts for future use, upgrading the existing lighting, and the installation of regulatory and warning traffic signs and markings required to achieve the required level of safety on the avenue.
