The project is considered to be one of the vital strategic projects in the Kingdom, comprising the transformation of the former roundabout into a 3 level grade-separated interchange with an underpass extending along Sheikh Salman Highway at a length of 560m to accommodate traffic heading towards Bahrain Gas Intersection and Sheikh Zayed Avenue Intersection, in addition to traffic heading towards 16 December Avenue and Sheikh Salman Highway and vice versa. The project also contains an at-grade bridge controlled by traffic signals to handle traffic coming from the Ministry of Labour direction towards Isa Town Gate, in addition to 2 precast segmental flyovers with 905m length and 885m length each, connecting Sheikh Salman Highway to Al Estiqlal Highway.
