Cost: BD64,752,888 (including the cost of land ownership and the costs of reconstruction of parts of Mina Salman Industrial Area)
The project is considered to be one of the most complicated roads projects implemented by the Ministry of Work. Work extended from Umm Al Hassam Junction to the Industrial Area in Sitra at a length of over 3.2km, and 1.5km along Sheikh Isa bin Salman Highway. The project also included major infrastructure works such as high and low voltage cables, sewerage, water and gas pipelines. The re-construction of Sitra Bridge comprised the construction of 2 marine bridges to the west of the present bridge; the 200m long north bridge and 400m long south bridge. Both bridges consist of 3 lanes on each direction, to be expanded to 4 lanes in the future.
