Project Summary: This project is part of a package of strategic road development projects that serve access and connectivity between various major cities, including Riffa, A'ali, Sanad, Salmabad, Isa Town and its surrounding areas. The project contributes to improving traffic flow across the road network and reducing traffic congestion.
The project aims to develop the intersection of Shaikh Salman Ave with Amman Ave and Salmabad Ave. The works include the construction of a flyover with three lanes in each direction to provide free-flow movement without stopping along Shaikh Salman Ave, and the upgrading of the existing intersection through the installation of traffic lights at ground level to facilitate traffic on Salmabad Ave and Amman Ave, in addition to other associated works, which include the construction of a rainwater drainage network, road paving, development of pavements, as well as landscaping and beautification works, and the provision of traffic safety requirements.
The project represents a significant upgrade to Shaikh Salman Ave, as it connects the Capital and Northern Governorates from the north and extends to the Southern Governorate. It will increase the capacity of the intersection compared to the current situation, where the existing capacity of the avenue is 12,000 vehicles per day, which will increase to 22,500 vehicles per day.
