Summary: Umm Al Saad Avenue is the main link located at the southern tip of Sitra Island and connected with Sh. Jaber Al Ahmed Al Sabah Highway at Tank farm junction. Umm Al Saad Avenue is a single dual carriageway connecting Sitra and Al Bandar. The present scope is to replace the existing bridge (Bridge 17) with two new bridge structures (Bridge 1 & Bridge 2) with two-lanes dual carriageway and hard shoulders to enhance traffic on the street, raise the level of traffic safety in order to preserve public safety and road users and accommodate the future widening of Umm Al Saad Avenue. The project include two phases, the first phase involves the construction of one of the bridges to divert the traffic to the newly constructed one, and then start with the construction of the second bridge (phase 2) in order to maintain the traffic flow. Beside this, the project serves expansion work conducting on BAPCO refinery.
