Project Summary: The project works include the construction of a new additional turn lane connecting National Charter Highway and Al-Muaskar Highway, extending over 800 meters.
The opening of the new lanes will contribute to improving traffic flow and reducing congestion at the intersection, particularly for traffic travelling westbound on Al-Muaskar Highway towards Riffa, or eastbound on Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah Highway towards Sitra. The lane capacity has increased from 1,600 vehicles per hour prior to the implementation of the project to 2,600 vehicles per hour following completion of the expansion works, representing an improvement of 62.5%.
