Summary: The project aims to provide safe and easy access to the villages in the vicinity of the project; namely Hidd, Dair, Samaheej and Galali. Also, the project will also provide access to the entrances and exits of the investment housing projects such as Amwaj, Dilmunia and Diyyar Al Muharraq. The project is also considered to be an extension to the Muharraq Fourth Bridge that links Busiateen and Diyyar Al Muharraq.
The current phase of Muharraq Ring Road Project comprises of expanding the road at the part extending from the entrance to Amwaj to Hidd entrance from twon lanes at each direction to three lanes at each direction also It includes revamping Hidd Interchange and constructing a new access point to the East of the interchange, which leads to the investment and commercial complexes in the area. In addition to that, the existing traffic signal will be adjusted, a new lighting system will be implemented, and the storm water drainage network will be improved, besides protecting the existing services and installing pedestrian barriers for safety purposes.
