Project Brief : The Postal Sorting building is the main postal operations center in the Kingdom of Bahrain, where all incoming and outgoing items are sorted out from the Kingdom and aims to provide services related to the reception and sorting of mail, parcels and related customs procedures.
The government allocated a piece of ground of 10,907 square meters for the construction of the postal sorting center building, which was built on an area of 4,190 square meters.
The office building consists of two floors for postal sorting and customs services. The ground floor contains the main hall for sorting mail, the customs lounge, the parcels lounge, the employees lounge, the reception hall, the registration hall, the corporate hall, the administrative offices and stores. The first floor includes post offices and a meeting room. Providing the building with electromechanical services from central air conditioning, electric elevators, substation power station and power generator, as well as all required services and facilities.
In the design of the Postal Classification Center, the requirements and specifications of sustainable green buildings and the application of the policy of rationalizing the consumption of energy and water to preserve the environment and natural resources were also taken into consideration.
