WORKS MINISTRY COMMENCES WORK ON THE REVAMP OF SHEIKH ABDULLA AVENUE

Roads Projects & Maintenance Director at the Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs & Urban Planning Eng. Sayyed Bader Alawi revealed that the Ministry has commenced work on the revamp of Sheikh Abdulla Avenue; extending from Sheikh Hamad Avenue to Bab Al Bahrain Avenue in Manama.

According to Alawi, the project is part of the Ministry's comprehensive plan aiming to revamp roads and maintain traffic safety levels. Also, the revamp of Sheikh Abdulla Avenue is considered to be an extremely important achievement in the roads network, as the avenue is located in the capital and has a certain historical significance; being the connection between the Western part of the capital and the old traditional market (Suq).

Alawi explained that the avenue will serve visitors to the Capital Manama and will also add a touch of beauty to the place.

The BD179,330 project was awarded to Bahrain Pipes Contracting.

Member of the Old Markets Committee in the Bahrain Chamber of Industry & Commerce Riyadh Al Mahroos lauded the prominent role extended by the Works Ministry in revamping the Old Manama Suq and collaborating with representatives to the Chamber for the purpose of serving citizens.
