Engineer Shaikh Mishal bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Works, accompanied by Engineer Fathi Abdulla Al Farea, Assistant Undersecretary for Sanitary Engineering, conducted a site visit to the Sewerage Network Project in Blocks 447, 431 and 435 in Qadam and Jeblat Habshi to review the progress of works.
The visit forms part of the ministry's regular field inspection programme for key infrastructure projects, aimed at monitoring implementation progress, reviewing the latest developments, and ensuring that projects are completed in accordance with the approved timelines.
The undersecretary explained that the project includes the construction of a pumping station, main sewer lines using both open-cut and trenchless construction methods, lateral sewer lines, and a number of sewerage manholes to serve approximately 414 properties. He noted that the project has reached 52% completion.
Shaikh Mishal bin Mohammed Al Khalifa affirmed that the project will directly contribute to improving services provided to citizens by enhancing the efficiency and capacity of the sewerage network across Blocks 447, 431 and 435. He added that the project will also improve the public health environment in the developed areas, benefiting from the new network.
The project was awarded by the Tender Board to Abdulhadi Al-Afoo W.L.L. at a total value of BD 4,969,128.
