The Ministry of Works announced the completion of the development project at the intersection of Khalifa Al-Kabeer Hwy and Abdulrahman Al-Fadhel Ave in Muharraq Governorate, as part of its ongoing efforts to upgrade the Kingdom's road network, enhance road safety and improve transport efficiency in key areas.
The Ministry of Works confirmed that the project involved reorganising the left-turn lanes by adding a new lane from Khalifa Al-Kabeer Hwy in both directions, leading to Abdulrahman Al-Fadhel Ave and Rd 1655, bringing the total to two separate lanes, with the aim of improving traffic flow and enhancing road safety. The project also included the construction of underground ducts for future use by service providers, improvements to road lighting, the provision of road signs and guidance boards, as well as the installation of new traffic signages, including overhead signs on Khalifa Al-Kabeer Hwy in both directions.
The Ministry stated that the project forms part of a series of initiatives aimed at supporting transport infrastructure in the Kingdom of Bahrain, having been implemented according to a specific timetable and in accordance with the highest technical and engineering standards to ensure the sustainability of the roads and achieve a tangible positive impact for citizens and residents.
