His Excellency Engineer Wael bin Nasser Al Mubarak, Minister of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture, and His Excellency Engineer Ibrahim bin Hassan Al Hawaj, Minister of Works, conducted an inspection visit to the Waterfront Development Project in the Capital Manama (King Faisal Corniche – Phase One) to review the progress of works and the stages of implementation.
During the visit, His Excellency Engineer Wael bin Nasser Al Mubarak affirmed that the Waterfront Development Project in the Capital Manama (King Faisal Corniche – Phase One) is one of the Kingdom's major strategic projects, undertaken as part of ongoing efforts to develop waterfront destinations and enhance recreational and service facilities in the Capital. The project supports the objectives of the comprehensive development process led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, King of the Kingdom of Bahrain, may God protect and preserve him, and the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, may God protect him.
The Minister explained that the project covers an area of approximately 46,000 square meters and, in its first phase, includes walking, jogging and cycling tracks, in addition to playgrounds, sports courts and service buildings, as well as green spaces that contribute to enhancing the urban and environmental landscape of Manama.
His Excellency noted that the Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture, through its strategic plans, is implementing a number of service projects that contribute to infrastructure development and the provision of high-quality municipal and public services that meet the aspirations of citizens and residents. He affirmed the Ministry's continued efforts to promote sustainable urban development and expand projects aimed at increasing green spaces and developing parks and recreational facilities, thereby enhancing the quality of services provided to citizens and residents.
For his part, His Excellency Engineer Ibrahim bin Hassan Al Hawaj, Minister of Works, affirmed that construction and implementation works on the project are progressing according to plan, noting that the Manama waterfront is one of the Kingdom's important landmarks that reflects the continuous pace of development and progress. He added that it is a destination frequented by many citizens and residents across the Kingdom of Bahrain.
He further stated that the Ministry of Works is working in coordination with the Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture to implement a number of service projects that contribute to the continued development of infrastructure and the delivery of high-quality services throughout the Kingdom of Bahrain.
Al Hawaj added that the Ministry of Works is committed to meeting the aspirations of citizens and residents through the establishment of public and service facilities in accordance with the highest standards of quality, in a manner that serves citizens and all members of society.
