As part of efforts to strengthen collaboration between the government and academic sectors, the Ministry of Works participated in the International Conference on Emerging Technologies for Sustainability and Intelligent Systems (ICETSIS 2026), organized by the Applied Science University, by presenting joint applied research highlighting some of Bahrain's most significant achievements in the infrastructure sector.
This participation reflects the depth of the ongoing cooperation between the two entities, as advanced engineering projects demonstrating the integration of scientific research and practical application were showcased. Among the featured presentations was “The Avenue 105 Flyover: Improving Traffic and Infrastructure in Bahrain," which highlighted the direct impact of such projects in enhancing traffic efficiency and promoting sustainable infrastructure development.
The participation also included joint research papers by the Ministry of Works and the Applied Science University, focusing on the application of modern technologies in infrastructure development projects in line with international best practices in sustainability and smart engineering.
This partnership forms part of a strategic approach aimed at strengthening the role of academic institutions as key partners in supporting Bahrain's development journey by transforming research outcomes into practical solutions that contribute to the advancement and efficiency of national projects.
The conference also featured a joint institutional presentation by the Ministry of Works and the Applied Science University, showcasing successful models of collaboration between the two sides and highlighting future opportunities for developing joint research and applied projects.
