As part of the government's ongoing efforts to enhance the quality of public services and re-engineer service delivery, the Ministry of Works has upgraded its Road Sector Contractors' Invoice Management Service by introducing two service channels: a standard track dedicated to tender-based projects and an expedited track for local purchase orders, enhancing procedural flexibility and accelerating transaction processing.
Under the enhanced service, the processing time for the standard track has been reduced from 30 to 14 working days, while the expedited track has been shortened from 20 to 10 working days. The upgraded service also reduces the required documentation by 50%, decreases the service level agreement (SLA) timeframe by at least 25%, achieves 100% digital transformation of the service, and features an improved user interface with simplified procedures.
In this regard, Eng. Huda Mirza Al Salman, Assistant Undersecretary for Technical Services at the Ministry of Works, affirmed that the upgraded service reflects the ministry's adoption of innovative digital solutions aimed at streamlining procedures, reducing processing times, enhancing operational efficiency, and promoting greater transparency, thereby supporting the competitiveness of Bahrain's contracting sector.
She added that the launch of the enhanced service underscores the Ministry of Works' commitment to continuously developing its services in ways that improve operational effectiveness while reducing the time and effort required from institutions, in line with the desired government objectives.
It is worth noting that, as part of the government's continuous efforts to develop and re-engineer public services, more than 1,300 government services have been documented, translated, and published. Of these, over 800 services have undergone development and re-engineering across various government sectors, based on suggestions and feedback received through the National Suggestions and Complaints System (Tawasul), investor feedback, and secret shopper reports evaluating government services. These efforts have also included the launch of service guides and service level agreements, contributing to greater procedural efficiency, improved service quality, enhanced customer experience, and further advancement of the Kingdom's digital government transformation.
