MoW’s Roads Projects & Maintenance Director Raed Al Salah revealed that the Ministry is presently constructing a parking lot along Tunisia Avenue and Al Khartoum Avenue, as part of the revamp of Tunisia, Al Khartoum and Algeria Avenues in Isa Town. This is part of the plan to improve infrastructure in the old area in Isa Town. Al Salah explained that work is presently underway to create parking spaces along Algeria Avenue. Revamp works also include reconstructing and revamping Tunisia, Algeria and Al Khartoum Avenues, installing 2 traffic signals along Baghdad Avenue, Isa Town Mall entrance and the Intersection of both Damascus and Cairo Avenues for the purpose of controlling and organizing traffic movement. Work also includes removing old paving layers, leveling works, protecting present services, extending ground channels for present and future use, creating a rainwater drainage network, lighting, creating pedestrian pavements and parking spaces, and signage. The revamp works in Isa Town cover roads with a total length of 2138m.
