HE the Minister of Works Essam bin Abdulla Khalaf received a delegation from the National Independent Bloc; comprising of Bloc’s Chief MP Khamis Al Romaihi (MP to District 5 at the Southern Governorate), MP to District 4 at the Northern Governorate Hassan Al Dosari, MP to District 6 at the Capital Governorate Abdul Rahman Bumajeed.
Present at the meeting were also Roads Assistant Undersecretary Huda Fakhro, Sanitary Engineering Assistant Undersecretary Khalifa Al Mansoor and Construction & Maintenance Assistant Undersecretary Mona Al Motawa. The Minister Khalaf directed officials at the Ministry to constantly follow-up Ministry’s projects in all Governorates in the Kingdom; explaining that the provision of different development projects is a vital part of the Ministry’s responsibilities. During the meeting, the National Independent Bloc’s MPs highlighted issues relating to the revamp of a number of areas in Districts 5, 4 and 6 at the Southern, Northern and Capital Governorates, in addition to improving interchanges at a number of roads, providing parking spaces and responding to traffic safety specifications.
Other projects and issues were also highlighted at the meeting, including Tubli Bay and developing Tubli Sewage Treatment Plant, traffic congestion close to Al Qadam Roundabout leading to Budaiya Highway Villages, narrow roads in Budaiya, road projects in Jasra, revamping Karbabad Avenue and Sh. Isa bin Salman Highway, traffic load on Sh. Khalifa bin Salman Highway, expanding Umm Al Hassam roads, the timing of Mina Salman Interchange traffic signal, and the Ministry’s plans for further road revamp projects in parallel to the Housing Ministry’s plan to implement more housing projects. At the end of the meeting, MPs extended their thanks to the Minister and the Ministry’s officials for their constant support and collaboration.
