The Ministry of Works has completed the renovation and revamp of concrete establishments for ventilation reservoirs at Tubli Sewage Treatment Plant, which are part of the revamp projects being implemented at the plant. Works were implemented by the international contractors Beton & Rohrbau C.F. Thymian GmbH & Co. KG, Germany and supervised by the consultant P2M Berlin GmbH. The project was a warded at a cost of BD1.8 million.

Sanitary Engineering Planning & Projects Director Asma Murad explained that the project comprised of a complete restoration to 3 ventilation reservoirs and a number of concrete structures at Tubli STP. Work also included extending the length and width of present emergency drainage channels flowing into Tubli Bay by 430m, which are used to discharge bilaterally treated water from the plant to Tubli Bay to avoid flooding at the plant and nearby roads; resulting from the rainy season or high tide in Tubli Bay.
