HE the Minister of Works Essam bin Abdulla Khalaf received at his office MP Ebtisam Hijres, representative of District 3 at the Capital Governorate, where they discussed roads and sanitary needs in the area. At the beginning of the meeting, the Minister welcomed Hijres and stressed the importance of similar meetings and visits to closely follow-up people’s needs. He also reiterated the Ministry of Works’ keenness to implement various infrastructure projects in all Kingdom’s Governorates. MP Hijres inquired about shortage of projects in District 3 and the Ministry’s future plan regarding a number of projects in the area, including Al Barhama area.
A number of requests were also presented to the Minister, which included the revamp of Al Barhama’s entrance, improving roads inside the village and implementing speed humps along Road 1225. The Minister assured Hijres that the sanitary project in Barhama (Al Swaifiya) will soon be implemented, while road works will commence following the completion of the sanitary project. He also said that requests and suggestions conveyed to the Ministry from residents in District 3 are taken care of, explaining that specialists at the Ministry will look into some of the requests and suggestions in order to take the necessary action.
‘The Ministry completed a number of roads projects in Blocks 314, 301 and 303, while projects in Blocks 324 & 302 and sanitary projects are under implementation,’ said the Minister. At the end MP Hijres extended thanks to the Minister for his concern and constant follow up to all works and projects related to the Ministry. She also commended engineers’ keenness to constantly keep in touch with citizens and attend to their needs.
