The Ministry of Works participated in District 9’s Service Conference at the Northern Governorate, which was attended by a delegation headed by Roads Assistant Undersecretary Huda Fakhro and a number of engineers from the roads and sanitary engineering sectors. At the beginning of the conference, Fakhro explained that since the formation of Municipal Councils in 2002, the Ministry of Works formed a Coordination & Follow-up Committee responsible for receiving and following up Municipal Councils’ requests and applications at the Kingdom’s 5 Governorates, which has been done in response to HRH the Prime Minister’s directives urging to activate the role of Municipal Councils and communicate more with citizens through activities similar to this conference.
Fakhro commended the efforts extended by both representative of District 9 Khalid Abdul A’Al and Municipal Council Member Jassim Al Mahdi to follow up citizens’ needs at the District. During the conference, MoW’s delegation highlighted the Ministry’s project plan covering various directorates at the roads and sanitary engineering sectors, and also referred to reasons behind the delay in some projects conflicting with other services involved.
