MoW’s Roads Projects & Maintenance Director Raed Al Salah revealed that the Ministry has commenced the revamp of Avenue 23 in Tubli; phase 1, at a cost of BD539,104. The project was awarded to Al Wardi Contracting Company and will take 28 weeks to complete.
 
 ‘The project comprises of the re-construction of Avenue 23 at a length of 650m, in addition to constructing rain water drainage channels to connect them to the sewerage network,’ said Al Salah.
 
 ‘Work also includes protecting the electricity, water and telecommunication network, installing lighting poles, constructing pavements on the sides of the road, implementing traffic safety works, signage, constructing pedestrian crossings and central reservation, and installing a traffic signal.’ he added.
 
The total length of the road to undergo revamp is 3,386km. The implementation of revamp works will require some traffic diversions and closure of some lanes; to be done in stages according to the work schedule.
