Eng. Kadhem Ali Abdul Latif, Director of Road Planning & Design at the Ministry of Works said a total of five sets of traffic lights were installed during the first half of 2012. He revealed that the Public Report Centre received a total of 168 reports by phone since the beginning of this year. Meanwhile, he added since the launch of the service in October 2010 until the present time a total of 58 reports were received through the e-Government portal www.bahrain.bh/wps/portal and the Ministry of Works website at www.works.gov.bh. He explained that types of breakdowns have been analysed and the appropriate alternatives were developed for minimizing faults. Traffic light support batteries have been installed to deal with power breakdowns in a particular area and the conventional traffic lights (Halogen) have been replaced by the LED type to avoid the periodical change of the traffic light bulbs.
