The Ministry of Works organized a workshop titled ‘Sewage Water Collection Systems Maintenance & Operation’; targeting 14 engineers, technicians and trainees from the sanitary engineering sector. The workshop was held at the Movenpick Hotel in 2-6 September 2012; organized in collaboration with the Arab Countries Water Utilities Association (ACWUA) and Engicon O&M, and accredited by the DWA German Association for Water, Wastewater and Waste.

 

The workshop included a site visit to a sewerage and lifting station in Arad, and another to a pumping station for sewage treated water in Al Jasra. The site visits aimed to inform the attendees on the method of transferring water to Tubli Sewage Treatment Plant and then using the treated water for irrigation and afforestation purposes. Attendees were also briefed on methods of selecting and maintaining pumps, in addition to safety and precaution in sewerage stations.
