The Ministry of Works, in coordination with the Information and eGovernment Authority, has launched a package of procedural guides for infrastructure project permits, coinciding with the development of the “Tasareeh” electronic platform, as part of the Ministry’s efforts to develop the permitting system, advance digital transformation, and enhance the quality of services provided to beneficiaries.
On this occasion, Engineer Jaafar Mohammed Mohsen, Acting Head of the Central Planning Office at the Ministry of Works, affirmed that the office has prepared and developed three main procedural guides in both Arabic and English, namely the “Excavation Permit Guide,” the “Procedures Guide for Designing Utility Corridors for Infrastructure Networks,” and the “Procedures Guide for Permit Applications for Connecting Infrastructure Networks to Homes.” He noted that the guides aim to standardize and clarify the procedures for obtaining permits by informing beneficiaries of the requirements and necessary documents for each type of application, thereby facilitating the application process, reducing comments on applications, and enhancing the clarity and transparency of procedures.
He added that the guides primarily target entities involved in the design and implementation of infrastructure projects, including engineering offices, real estate developers, and contractors, providing them with a comprehensive procedural reference outlining the steps and requirements for obtaining the necessary permits.
Engineer Mohsen noted that permit applications covered by the guides are submitted electronically through the “Tasareeh” platform, enabling beneficiaries to submit applications and follow up on their procedures, while enhancing integration and coordination between government entities and the private sector in implementing infrastructure projects.
He affirmed that the launch of the guides and the development of the “Tasareeh” platform form part of the Ministry’s efforts to develop an integrated digital system supporting the planning, design, and implementation of infrastructure projects, contributing to greater procedural efficiency and improved coordination among the concerned entities, in line with national efforts to continue developing government services and advancing digital transformation.
Engineer Mohsen called on engineering offices, real estate developers, contractors, and all concerned entities to review and benefit from the procedural guides through the Ministry of Works’ website at www.works.gov.bh, or the electronic platform for urban planning services at planning.bh. He affirmed the continuation of efforts to develop procedures and services in a manner that contributes to enhancing the efficiency of infrastructure project implementation and improving the beneficiary experience.
It is worth noting that the “Tasareeh” platform serves as the electronic portal responsible for issuing permits related to infrastructure projects, enabling applications to be submitted and followed up electronically, thereby facilitating and accelerating procedures and enhancing coordination among the various entities concerned
