His Excellency Engineer Ibrahim bin Hassan Al-Hawaj, Minister of Works, received a delegation from the Project Management Institute (PMI) to discuss enhancing cooperation and exchanging expertise to improve the efficiency of developmental projects and elevate the quality of infrastructure.
The Minister emphasized the importance of the ongoing strategic partnership with PMI, noting that the Ministry has been an accredited training partner with the institute for nine years. This partnership has successfully trained engineering cadres in global best practices and enabled them to obtain recognized professional certifications in this field.
The meeting explored new cooperation opportunities, including training for the Certified Construction Professional (PMI-CP) credential, for which the Ministry of Works is the only certified organization in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The Minister highlighted that adopting international standards and practices from PMI has contributed to enhancing the efficiency and quality of strategic projects, aligning with the government's aspirations to continuously improve public projects and services.
Future collaboration areas were also reviewed, including participation in regional and global events organized by PMI, as well as local initiatives to promote a culture of professional project management.
