Works Affairs Undersecretary at the Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs & Urban Planning Eng. Ahmed Al Khayyat visited Isa Town Primary/Intermediate School for Boys at the Southern Governorate, accompanied by a number of engineers from the Ministry in charge of project implementation.
During the visit, Al Khayyat explained that the construction of the new school academic building and the sub-power station has completed; with a 85% overall progress in the project. Work is presently underway to complete the internal and external finishing works, and the electromechanical works at the academic building. Work is also in progress to complete external works on site.
The academic building is planned for completion and hand over to the Ministry of Education by the end of August this year; in preparation for the 2016-2017 academic season.
Also, Al Khayyat stated that the old school building is to be demolished following the handover of the new building; prior to the commencement of phase 2 of the project, which comprises of constructing playgrounds and external fields with international standards and specifications. The project contractor has been directed to take utmost safety measures during implementation of the project.
