HE the Minister of Works Eng. Essam bin Abdulla Khalaf received at his office MP Ali Hassan Al-Otaish, the Chairman of the Legislative & Legal Affairs Committee at the Representatives Council and representative to District 1 at the Northern Governorate, where they discussed infrastructure and sanitary projects in the area.
At the beginning of the meeting, which was also attended by Sanitary Engineering Undersecretary Khalifa Al Mansoor, Roads Planning & Projects Director Raed Al Salah and Media & Community Service Head Hafedh Abdulghaffar, the Minister welcomed Mr. Al-Otaish and commended the active role of MPs in attending to citizens’ needs and striving to provide the best services to them.
A number of issues related to roads and sanitary projects in District 1 have been highlighted at the meeting, including creating access points to the new housing area in Jidhafs along Sehla Avenue and connecting it to the traffic signal. 90% of the detailed designs for the project have been completed and implementation will commence following the approval of all service directorates.
MP Al-Otaish also discussed with the Minister the possibility of speeding up work on Tashan Interchange along Budaiya Highway, which has already been included within the 2014 Roads Maintenance Program. Implementation will commence following the completion of detailed designs and once approval of all service directorates is obtained. Once work license is obtained, the project will be put out to a public tender.
On the sanitary sector level, MP Al-Otaish requested speeding up implementation of the sewerage network in Blocks 419,421 and 425 in Jidhafs, and finding a solution for the water flood on Road 2507, Block 425 in Jidhafs. Detailed designs for the project have been completed; under H55294 Project, and work was awarded to Mohsen Haji Ali.
