The Ministry of Works, in cooperation with the Human Resources Directorate, has allocated special parking spaces for the pregnant ladies at the Ministry, in order to make it easier for them to reach their offices especially during their final months of pregnancy. In order to properly distribute parking spaces to the most eligible ladies and the most in need for such parking, the Equal Opportunities Unit at the Ministry has determined a number of measures related to those ladies’ health conditions during their pregnancy; accompanied by medical reports to support their cases.

 

This unique initiative is part of the Equal Opportunities Unit’s plan to achieve 3 important goals, namely: create a suitable and comfortable work environment for the female staff at the Ministry, spread equality amongst staff at the Ministry and accommodate women’s needs related to development. The Ministry of Works was the first to establish an equal opportunities unit; to support national strategic requirements aiming to enhance the role of the Bahraini woman in society.
