MoW’s Sanitary Engineering Planning & Projects Director Asma Murad visited the sewerage network project in Arad, accompanied by project manager Eng. Pan Najm Al Dein, the supervising team from the Ministry and from the consultant EM Consulting and contractor Beton & Rohrbau. The visit aimed to inspect phase 2 of the project, which comprises the revamp of 15.059m long pipes with diameters varying from 15.-400 mm. the BD3,431,620-/ works commenced in November 2012 and will take 1 year to complete. The project is being implemented using Calibrated Pipe Bursting, Cure In-Place Pipe and Pipe Bursting Techniques, which aim to decrease the underground water penetration to the sewerage network from 74Ls to 66Ls; therefore contributing to reducing the amount of flow to pumping stations and also reducing overflow to the sea in emergencies.
