HE the Minister of Works Eng. Essam bin Abdulla Khalaf inaugurated Bahrain 3rd Training Forum under the title ‘Strategic Thinking for Developing Future Plans’, which took is taking place from 5-7 May 2013 at the Movenpick Hotel. ‘Bahrain’s 3rd Training Forum complements previous forums patronized by the Ministry of Works, which reflects the Ministry’s keenness to develop the human element and Bahraini competencies,’ said the Minister in his opening speech. ‘It is also an initiative that goes in line with the Government’s policy aiming to motivate and encourage innovation, improve the quality of services and enhance the human element, which is an essential component in any sustainable development. The forum will complement career development issues sponsored by HE the Kuwaiti Crown Prince,’ he added.
The Assistant Undersecretary for Technical Services Ahmed Al Khayyat delivered a speech in which he explained that the Ministry of Works paid special attention towards developing the human capital at the Ministry, which explains the recent increase in training budgets. According to Al Khayyat, this enabled the Ministry to implement many training programs, in line with the overall development plan at the Ministry. In his speech, the Secretary General of the Gulf Career Development Forum Dr. Fahad Al Fadhala highlighted the importance of choosing strategic thinking as the subject for the forum, as it reflects the present and future and also contributes to enhancing the competency of administrative and technical leaderships, in addition to improving performance at public and private organizations. He also commended the Ministry of Works’ collaboration and active role in similar training events and activities. At the end of the opening ceremony, Bahrain Bay and Diyyar Al Muharraq Establishments were honored; being the supporting parties to the event and major contributors to its success.
