MoW’s Information Technology Directorate received a number of academics and students from the Engineering and Computer Science Colleges at the Gulf University, who were interested in the directorate’s scope of work, policies, strategy, plans and objectives; taking into consideration the fact that the Ministry is a leader in the use of modern technology and advanced technologies. The visit aims to enhance societal partnership, exchange expertise and enhance communication and cooperation amongst the country’s enterprises and educational organizations.
 
During the visit, a presentation was delivered on the services offered by the directorate, which included a brief about the nine electronic services offered by the Ministry through the eGovernment portal, MoW’s portal and the mobile. The services are namely the Materials Testing Results, Sanitary Complaints, Sanitary Connection, Traffic Signal Service Request, Report Road Fault, Abnormal Load Permission, Contractor Prequalification, Traffic Diversion Request and Building Maintenance Request.
 
The directorate also highlighted the systems provided by the ITD to other directorates at the Ministry to facilitate their work, in addition to the new support system specializing in managing and following up technical requests. The delegation also toured the different sections at the Information Technology Directorate. At the end of the visit, the delegation extended thanks to the Ministry and the Information Technology Directorate for granting such an opportunity to the students; expressing their interest in a similar future visit to other students.
