MoW’s Acting Assistant Undersecretary for Construction Projects & Building Maintenance Mona Al Motawa, accompanied by Ministry of Health’s Assistant Undersecretary for Health Care Dr. Mariam Al Jalahma and a number of officials from both ministries, and toured Halat Bu Maher Health Centre to inspect progress in the project, which is one of the biggest health centers in Muharraq. According to Al Motawa, 20% of the pile foundation work commenced on the 2nd of last May and is expected to complete beginning of May 2014. ‘The project consists of a 3 storey main building covering an area of 13259 square meters and an underground car park capable of accommodating 60 cars,’ said Al Motawa.
 
‘There are also electrical, mechanical and external works and an electricity chamber covering an area of 165 square meters,’ she explained. The BD4.594.521 project was awarded to Arados Contracting & Maintenance. On her end, Dr. Al Jalahma explained that the health centre in Halat Bu Maher is part of the service facilities in various areas in Muharraq; aiming to alleviate pressure on the old facilities. The architectural design for the new health Centre goes in harmony with Muharraq’s traditional architecture.
