The Ministry of Works, represented by the Building Maintenance Directorate, has maintained 41 government schools at a cost of BD2,448,000 Million. Maintenance works were implemented by 35 contractors for civil and mechanical works and 15 contractors for electrical works, all of which supervised by the Ministry. According to Acting Building Maintenance Director Huda Mirza Abbas, civil works include internal and external painting to all school buildings and fences, in addition to replacing all damaged health facilities. Mechanical works include maintaining water network and fixing leakages and water tanks, while electrical works include inspecting and maintaining internal and external lighting systems and also emergency systems.
