H.E. the Minister of Works, Mr. Essam Bin Abdulla Khalaf, met in his office Colonel Jon Christensen, the Middle East District Commander and other members from U.S. Corps of Engineers to discuss the progress of work done under the agreement with the Corps which was signed in August 2010.
H.E. the Minister also announced that the U.S. Corps of Engineers team has been asked to review planning, coordination and construction issues associated with a number of strategic projects in Bahrain. The Corps will utilize international experience and best practices to provide objective analysis during problem solving.
The scope of the Corps effort includes review of internal and external processes and procedures and to recommend adjustments to improve the delivery of complex projects within the established quality, time and budget parameters. The task team will be located within the Ministry of Works HQ and the duration of the assignment is scheduled for a period of six months starting 19th September, 2011.
H.E. the Minister of Works welcomed the newly arrived Corps staff and looked forward to the contribution from the Corps in assisting the Government of Bahrain in the delivery of major projects.
