HE the Minister of Works Essam bin Abdulla Khalaf made the decision to establish a new ‘Equal Opportunities Unit’ at the Ministry of Works, which seeks to support and enhance women’s presence and role at the ministry.

The Minister explained that the main objective of the unit is to provide equality and support to women at the ministry and fulfill their needs and requirements at all levels and fields.

Once established, the ‘Equal Opportunities Unit” will consist of a number of specializations related to equality amongst employees in recruitment, training, promotion; all the while taking into consideration women’s needs and also adopting equality when providing different public services to the ministry’s beneficiaries, such as licenses, designing and maintenance of buildings and providing consultation services in the fields of construction and other related services.
