The Ministry of works, a leading professional organization and the construction arm of the Kingdom of Bahrain, is proud to patron the 1st Underground Infrastructure Middle East conference and exhibition taking place early next year. Under the patronage of H.E Eng. Fahmi bin Ali Al-Jowder, Minister of Works and the Minister in charge of Electricity and Water Authority, the event will be held at the Diplomat Radisson Hotel in Bahrain on the 18th and 19th of January 2010.
This initiative indicates Ministry of Work’s pioneering positioning in the region and reflects the Ministry’s commitment to provide world-class infrastructure in line with Bahrain Economic vision 2030. The 1st Underground Infrastructure Middle East 2010 is expected to attract delegates and exhibitors from government bodies, authorise, and construction and maintenance companies, services providers, and component manufacturers from across the region. It is also set to be a platform to meet specialised regional and international companies, providing an ideal environment to share experiences and review the latest trends in this field.
With a special focus on sewer systems, the event will cover all the relevant and managerial aspects of underground infrastructure activities from new installations, utility tunneling, pipes and sewer rehabilitation to human resources development, asset management and standards and regulations. Other topics to be covered during the two-day event will include water and gas distribution, district heating and cooling, telecommunications network, power grid, and transportations.
The conference will feature renowned world-class senior executive-level speakers and panel discussions highlighting the latest concepts for sustainable economic development. Among the Ministry of Works speakers during this prestigious event is H.E. Fahmi bin Ali Al-Jowder, Minister of works, who will deliver the keynote address on the opening day of the event. Other senior members of the Ministry’s management present at the event will include Khalifa Al-Mansoor, Undersecretary of Sanitary Affairs at the Ministry or Works.
