The Ministry of Works’ Roads Projects and Maintenance Directorate would like to announce a 16 hours temporary traffic closure of all movements underneath the Bahrain Map flyovers.
‘This is done to allow for the final asphalting, lane marking, and installation of traffic signals which will be followed by the full opening of the at-grade junction in all directions’ explained Director of Roads Projects and Maintenance, Raed Al Salah.
According to Al-Salah, no traffic underneath the flyovers will be allowed in any direction between 10:00 pm on Thursday 19th November and 2:00 pm on Friday 20th November 2009 (total of 16 hours). While Eastbound traffic coming from Saudi Arabia and Isa Town will all be directed to the top of the Bahrain Map flyover.
‘Those who would like to get into Avenue 13 and Tubli must exit the highway at the Tubli Gas Station entrance. Those who would like to get into Zing and Manama can either exit on Shaikh Salman flyover or at Umm Al Hassam Junction’ added Director Al-Salah.
The traffic in all other dictions will be allowed normally at all times, including both eastbound and westbound traffic on top of the flyovers, traffic coming out of Avenue 13 heading east to Umm Al Hassam, Westbound traffic from Mina Salman heading north to highway 35 and traffic coming from highway 35 heading westbound to Saudi Arabia.
‘At 2:00 pm on Friday 20th November, the traffic underneath the flyover will revert back to its existing status. On Tuesday 24th November, the junction will be opened fully for all traffic movements’ said Al-Salah
All the details given above are clearly shown on the attached map. Roads Projects and Maintenance Directorate requests all drivers to abide by traffic laws and signboards at all times for the safety of the public.
