A site visit was made yesterday morning by the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Works, H.E. Nayef Omar Al-Kalali, to follow up on Ministry of Works' ongoing investigation of the metre-deep pothole that was caused by a collapse in the service road parallel to Exhibition Road in Manama on Sunday evening. Initial investigation outcomes point to possible leakage from old sanitary network.

Ministry of Works was contacted on the night the incident happened, through its PR & Media Directorate, which promptly responded upon contact. Emergency crews from both Roads & Sanitary sectors showed up at the scene and coordinated with GDT on closure of the service road to traffic to maintain safety to all, and to investigate and fix the problem. It is expected that reinstatement works will be completed within a week time.
