As per ministry of works efforts to reduce the traffic congestion on King Faisal Highway, The Roads sector will commission a new traffic on King Faisal Highway on its intersection with Lulu Avenue. The new traffic signal will regulate the traffic movement arriving from Seef area and those arriving from Central Market Roundabout, and would works on two phase plan giving the right of way to each approach alternately.

Engineer Huda Fakhroo the Director of Road and Design Directorate stated that, the traffic studies that the ministry conducted, indicated that the traffic congestion at this spot is caused by the conflict between the three lanes traffic coming from Central market roundabout and Lulu Avenue towards eastbound with the three lane traffic on King Faisal Highway and the Central market flyover towards the eastbound as well.

This plan which was discussed and approved by the Traffic Board and the Municipal Council is considered as temporary solution until the full improvement and upgrading of King Faisal Highway project is implemented.
