The Ministry of Works, in its quest for transition to digitalism, has been awarded 2 Government Excellence Awards; the Electronic Development Category and the Electronic Economy Category. The first award is given to the best government organization in Architecture Enterprise, while the second award is granted to the government organization that best uses information and communication technology to support the economic sector in the Kingdom of Bahrain. While there is usually one winner for each categorization, the Ministry of Works was the only organization to be granted 2 awards for 2 categories this year. HE the Minister of Works Essam bin Abdulla Khalaf received the awards from HH Deputy Prime Minister Sh. Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, during the opening ceremony of the 2013 International e-Government Forum that took place at the Ritz Carlton Hotel.
The Minister Khalaf reiterated the Ministry of Works’ keenness to always provide high quality performance; indicating that the two awards only reflects the Ministry’s success in all technology related fields. Becoming a winner for the 5th year in a row reflects confidence in MoW’s staff and officials.
