The Ministry of Works announced that the Tender Board has issued the tender for the King Faisal Highway Development and Expansion Project, as part of the ministry's ongoing efforts to develop the Kingdom of Bahrain's road network and enhance infrastructure efficiency, contributing to improved traffic flow and higher road safety standards.

The project extends over 4.1 kilometers from Al Fateh Interchange in the east to Al Farooq Interchange in the west. It aims to provide uninterrupted traffic flow along King Faisal Highway through its expansion and the construction of grade-separated interchanges at key junctions, thereby increasing the road's capacity and reducing traffic congestion.

The project also includes the construction of a stormwater drainage network, road paving works, sidewalks, landscaping and beautification works, in addition to the necessary civil works for the diversion or protection of utilities and services affected by the project.

The tender forms part of the Ministry of Works' strategic plans to implement major road infrastructure projects that keep pace with urban and economic growth, improve mobility, and provide modern, sustainable infrastructure that meets the needs of road users.
