MoW’s Roads Assistant Undersecretary and Chairman of the Coordination & Follow-up Committee Eng. Huda Fakhro revealed that the Ministry has completed 834 municipal applications in 2013; at all 5 Governorates, while 246 applications are still under implementation. ‘The total number of requests from Municipal Councils; approved by the Ministry of Works, amounted to 1080 requests. The Central Governorate attracted most of the requests; with 361 approved requests, 293 of which were implemented while 68 are under implementation,’ said Fakhro. ‘The Northern Governorate comes next, with a total of 302 requests, 169 of which were approved and implemented while 133 are under implementation. The Southern Governorate presented 215 requests, 197 of which were completed while 18 are under implementation.’ she added. Muharraq Governorate presented 130 requests, 118 of which were completed while 12 are under implementation. Finally, 72 requests from the Capital Governorate were approved, 57 of which were completed while 15 are under implementation.
