MoW’s Roads Projects & Maintenance Director Eng. Raed Al Salah revealed that the Ministry has completed the revamp of Nuwaidrat Village, which comprised of constructing new roads in Block 643 and revamping roads and pathways in Block 644; located East of Nuwaidrat’s main highway that passes through the village from the South to the North at a length of 6km. ‘The project comprised of removing all old and deteriorated road layers, transferring and improving the existing water, electricity, sewerage and telecommunication services, and implementing plastic channels underneath the asphalt layer for future use and to facilitate maintenance at emergencies,’ Al Salah said. ‘The best materials approved by the Ministry’s Materials Engineering Directorate were used throughout the implementation of the project.’ he added.
The Ministry also implemented an advanced surface water network in order to clear rain water and keep it away from the area; due to the rise in the rainwater level. Taking into account the fact that the area is low and close to the sea, it has been connected to the central sewerage network. The project also included signage works, implementing speed humps, painting and lighting works. The BD1,224,142 project was awarded to Jalal Al A’Ali & Sons.
