As part of its plan to enhance the human element and improve their knowledge and skills, the Ministry of Works succeeded in training 1332 employees in 2013, at a cost of BD156.369.

Human Resources Director Mahmoud Abdul Rahim said that management played a vital role in supporting MoW’s strategic tendency to be a leading organization. For this reason, the Ministry constantly works towards preparing a capable and highly qualified team of engineers and professionals by providing sufficient and continuous training for them. The most important initiatives that the management practiced in 2013 were linking training programmes to the equivalent competencies for each position, so that both a supervisor and an employee have training programmes from which they could choose when determining the career development priorities at the time of performing the annual performance evaluation.

‘In 2013, we organized 5 internal training programmes; on the Ministry’s level. Also, our staff participated in various training and development programmes and conferences inside and outside Bahrain,’ said Abdul Rahim.

‘5 employees completed their college studies with the aid and support of the Ministry in 2013. The constant collaboration between the Ministry and the Civil Service Bureau in the field of training and development has contributed tremendously to the success of our training plan.’ he added.
