The Ministry of Works organized an inspection visit for the US House of Representatives to Tubli Sewage Treatment Plant, to introduce them to the treatment processes at Tubli Sewage Treatment Plant and the procedures used to deal with wastewater. The delegation was received by the Sanitary Engineering Assistant Undersecretary Eng. Khalifa Al Mansoor, Public Relations & Media Director Fahad Buallay and Chief of Treatment Plants Section Eng. Sameera Ghareeb.
 
At the beginning of the meeting, the Assistant Undersecretary welcomed the delegation and introduced them to the sanitary sector; highlighting the evolution in the sanitary services since the eighties and how it has come to serve 95% of Bahrain’s population now. He also shed light on the Ministry’s future strategic plan for the sanitary engineering sector; aiming to build treatment plants in the Northern and Southern Towns and a number of conveyance systems, in addition to developing and expanding treated water networks. Al Mansoor also referred to Tubli STP; explaining work mechanism at the plant and how the Minsitry is planning to expand its capacity to 400,000m3/day. At the end of the visit, the US delegation extended thanks to the Ministry for granting them this invaluable opportunity to learn more about such vital improvement projects.
