MoW’s Roads Assistant Undersecretary Huda Fakhro toured Isa Town, where she inspected Cairo, Damascus and Al Khartoum Avenues. During her visit, she was accompanied by Central Governorate Municipal Council Head Abdul Razzaq Al Hattab, Roads Planning & Design Director Kadhim Abdul Latif and a number of engineers from the Ministry. Fakhro explained that the revamp works in Isa Town cover roads with a total length of 2138m vertically.
‘Works comprise of reconstructing and revamping Tunisia, Algeria and Al Khartoum Avenues, installing 2 traffic signals along Baghdad Avenue, Isa Town Mall entrance and the Intersection of both Damascus and Cairo Avenues for the purpose of controlling and organizing traffic movement,’ said Fakhro.
‘Work also includes removing old paving layers, leveling works, protecting present services, extending ground channels for present and future use, creating a rainwater drainage network, lighting, creating pedestrian pavements and parking spaces, and signage,’ she added.
