MoW’s Sanitary Engineering & Projects Director Asma Murad, accompanied by Head of Constructions Eng. Dawood Khalaf, visited the sewerage and rainwater drainage network project in Nabih Saleh. The BD4,740,178 project was awarded to Jalal Al A’Ali Company. Work commenced in December, 11, 2011 and is planned for completion in July 2014. MWH Khunji is in charge of supervising implementation of the project. According to Director Murad, the project aims to connect houses in Nabih Saleh to the public sewerage network and connect them to Sitra station, in addition to creating a rainwater drainage network in the area.
 
The Ministry of Works had earlier extended sewerage pipelines along the new Sitra Causeway during the implementation of the project. It is expected that pipes in Nabih Saleh would extend at a length of 26km, with 400 houses to be connected to the network. The project consists of one pumping station and serves Blocks 380, 381 and 382. Completion percentage amounted to 8% at the end of 2012.
