The Ministry of Works announced the commencement of the Knowledge Management System, which is to be experimented at all ministries starting from now until the end of 2015; as part of the Ministry of Works’ strategy to promote knowledge exchange and benefit from the various accumulated experiences about mega projects and processes. The system also aims to achieve excellence in the field of knowledge management and make full use of the information programs available at the Ministry. On this occasion, the Ministry’s Undersecretary and the Knowledge Management Unit Supervisor Waleed Al Saaei received copy of the Knowledge Management Manual 2013 from the Chairman of the Committee in charge of the application of the knowledge management initiative within the Ministry’s Strategy Eng. Mohammed Hussain Al Mubarak. The Undersecretary Al Saaei lauded the efforts extended by the team responsible for the publication of the manual. The system is to be used directly in order to fully make advantage of its features, which are to be later amended upon the requirements of each sector, until the system trial ends in 2015. Results and recommendations will be presented to the top management to evaluate the knowledge management experience. The system, which is a modern methodology to manage information programs and knowledge management applications, is considered to be the first of its kind in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
