MoW’s Roads Assistant Undersecretary Huda Fakhro met with District 5 Municipal Council member at the Northern Governorate Jassim Al Dossari and discussed roads and infrastructure needs in the area. At the beginning of the meeting, Fakhro welcomed Al Dossari and commended the role of Municipal Councils in answering people’s needs and requirements and providing better services to them. Both Fakhro and Al Dossari highlighted issues related to the Ministry’s roads plans and projects at District 5 in the Northern Governorate. Al Dossari requested that roads in Block 555 in Budaiya be re-constructed. Fakhro explained that the necessary coordination is presently taking place to obtain the license for this project.
Also, Al Dossari requested the re-opening of Avenue 53 Extension; passing through the Marina West Project and leading to Budaiya, where Fakhro said that the suggested avenue passes through private properties, for which the necessary designs are currently being prepared to temporarily construct a single road within the available passageway until the appropriate road to connect the project is provided.
‘Work on the project will commence once the budget is allocated, and once the necessary technical procedures take place and the approval of other service entities is obtained,’ said Fakhro. Al Dossari also requested the revamp of Al Jasra Causeway, where AUS Fakhro explained that the report for cables drilling had been handed over by the concerned party last month; currently being assessed by the concerned engineers at the Ministry. There was also a request to pave roads in Block 1004 in Jasra with bricks, in addition to paving roads in Block 550. Fakhro reiterated the importance of coordinating with the Urban Planning Affairs to ensure whether or not these lands are private properties. As for sanitary projects, Al Dossari requested the replacement of sanitary pumps in Budaiya, where Fakhro promised to raise his request to the Sanitary Engineering Sector.
