HE Eng. Essam bin Abdulla Khalaf, Minister of Works honoured members of the Excellence Programme Monitoring Committee and the Competitiveness Laboratory’s working teams at a ceremony held at the Ministry. The ceremony was attended by Ministry’s Undersecretary Eng. Waleed Al Saie’e, Assistant Undersecretary for Technical Services Eng. Ahmed Al Khayat (Deputy Chairman of the Ministry’s Excellence Team), Assistant Undersecretary for Roads Eng. Hoda Fakhro, Assistant Undersecretary for Contraction & Maintenance Projects Eng. Mohamed Husain Al Mubarak, Assistant Undersecretary for Sanitary Drainage Eng. Khalifa Al Mansoor and senior Ministry officials.
 
A total of 42 staff members were honoured during the event. The Minister said the Ministry is able through its own resources to achieve the highest levels of quality, creativity and excellence in performance. He noted that the Ministry would not spare any effort to achieve the sustainability of positive and competitive performance through continuous work to meet the requirements of the Competitiveness Laboratory. Meanwhile, the Assistant Undersecretary for Technical Services (Deputy Chairman of the Ministry’s Excellence Team) said the participation of the Works Ministry in the Bahrain Centre for Excellence Programme comes within the framework of its efforts to develop knowledge management, learning, competitiveness, sustainability and enhancement of standards of operations to keep abreast of the excellence principles.
 
He added this stems from the Ministry’s belief that the Excellence Programme is considered as an opportunity for the Ministry and all government agencies to develop its performance and raise production efficiency, boost human resources and develop government performance that would reflect positively upon the development of quality of services to the public. This will enable the Kingdom of Bahrain to become in the same list of nations that enjoy excellent standards of government performance.
