HE the Minister of Works Essam bin Abdulla Khalaf received in his office a delegation from International Bank, located in Washington, where they discussed methods and applications of renewable and permanent energy and the green buildings initiative.

The meeting came in line with the workshop organized in coordination with the Ministry of Finance under the title ‘Ideal Use of Energy’. HE the Minister Khalaf introduced the delegation to MoW’s field of work and different services provided by them, in addition to initiatives adopted by the ministry in the field of energy and green buildings, which aim to provide a better life for citizens and follow international approaches aiming to protect the environment.

The Minister also highlighted the ministry’s experience in applying the Green Buildings Practices on a number of projects such as schools currently under design. This approach aims to provide a safer and healthier environment for students, where central air-conditioning and environment friendly materials were used, all of which have limited impact on global warming phenomenon and ozone layer. In order to save energy, air-conditioning and lighting systems are controlled through the building management system.
